How to design an amazing small office

Commercial architectureWhen you think about commercial architecture the first things that probably come to mind are huge office blocks and large shopping centres. However, businesses don’t always have massive spaces to play with. Some prefer to keep things small and personal. The smaller size doesn’t mean these commercial spaces should be any less incredible. In fact, they can be just as eye catching as large ones.

Desks

The thing that dictates the layouts of most offices is the amount of desks you need. In a small space there are more limits on how many you can have. The shape of the room will also affect how you can arrange them. One thing you can do is choose smaller furniture. Do people really need those huge desks with all the space going to waste? Choosing smaller ones can really help. Or, you could opt for hot desks where there are no assigned spaces and people can work where they want.

Flexible spaces

Another great thing you can do is make spaces flexible. For example, how often do you need your conference room for meetings? Why not make it so you can adapt it as and when you need to. That way you can have your conferences and meetings while using the spaces for other reasons the rest of the time.

Freeing up space

There are a number of other things you can do to free up space even in a tiny office. A great option is to make use of wall space. You can do more with shelving units than you can by having everything on tables and desks. Shelves are also a good way to add extra decor to a space.

Decor

The right decor can make even the smallest office feel comfortable. Try to stay away from darker colours as they make spaces feel small. If you have these dark shades in your branding and want to use them, make sure you do it sparingly and create contrast by using lighter shades with them. Plants are also a great option for any office as they add colour, help clean the air, and feel vibrant.
