The projects and work of Coffey Architects

At Coffey Architects, we have been privileged to work on a wide number of projects and competitions across many countries since our inception. The demand for functional and beautiful architecture will never cease and the world needs buildings that enhance people’s experiences as they play, learn, work and live in them. We have worked in countries from China to Bangladesh, in cities from Dhaka to London, and we pride ourselves on being able to provide well-received results. We have completed everything from residential extensions to commercial projects, something which has helped boost our expertise as architects.

We have been involved in a number of projects that has seen us contribute to the ever-changing landscape of London, as well as to China, Bangladesh and further afield. In London, we have worked on designs for a number of public projects. These include revamping and revitalising the Tricycle Theatre in London, giving it an ultra modern look. We also designed a library extension for a primary school in London, making sure it was also an adaptable space for music lessons and ensuring it was aesthetically pleasing and functional.

We also gave a full renovation to barristers’ chambers in Middle Temple, London, bringing them right up to date for modern usage. On top of this, we have taken on a number of commercial projects, designing fully-functional and beautiful office buildings in London, Dhaka, Qingdao, Linyi and many more locations. Our ability to deliver excellent designs to a global audience is indicative of the skill, passion and planning we put into every single job.

Our expertise has seen us involved in many competitions regarding architecture. Amongst the projects designed include the Kite, a unique monument for Liverpool that allows people to take a ride above the Liverpool skyline and view the sights and sounds of the city. We designed a Tunnel in the Sky, bridging Avon Gorge and we also designed the possible bookstore of the future which was featured in Intelligent in the May/June 2014. We even designed a hotel on the moon that we presented at the Guerilla Tactics Conference 2011.

We are a RIBA chartered practice, something that ensures our excellence is clear to see. On top of this, our inspiring architects have won a number of awards including the RIBA Stephen Lawrence Prize, the Small Project Architect award at the Architect of the Year Awards 2012 and the Autodesk Young Architect of the Year Award for 2012. This culture of excellence that we seek to inspire in our office has ensured that our architects in London continue to contribute to the breathtaking landscape of this great city.
