Are you attending the Ecobuild Conference?

This year’s Ecobuild Conference arrives at Excel London on 8th March 2016 and will bring a larger schedule of events and talks than ever before. The three day event will cover important challenges in the UK’s construction and energy market including homes, architecture and the next generation. The event will give over 44,000 professionals from the industry the chance to network, discuss issues and create new solutions.

The Conference has become an important annual event in the sector over the last decade. It has evolved in that time to mirror changes in the industry including infrastructure, energy efficiency, technology and housing demands. This year will see some significant changes, including a new layout for the show. A larger hall will now house sustainable design, construction and energy exhibitions to encourage shared ideas and innovation. There will also be a bigger arena for talks to allow more people to attend.

The exhibitions at the Ecobuild Conference will include demonstrations of new technologies and ideas that could shape the energy and construction sectors in the future. There will be a number of individually designed spaces set up during the event so that each participant can present their work to its best advantage. The event will be highly interactive and there will be many great opportunities for visitors to get involved.

Over the three day event there will be a packed schedule of talks covering all kinds of topics. On Tuesday 8th March the topic will be homes and will cover various topics including the qualities that make quality housing, how city growth can be triggered by regeneration, and the future of sustainable housing.

On Wednesday 9th March the topic will change to architecture and look at everything from visionaries to the role of architects in residential and community developments. The day will end with a special interview with Stephen Fry to share his thoughts on architecture.

The talks on Thursday 10th March will look ahead to the future, focusing on how people can be inspired to innovate. Several high profile projects will be examined, including the idea for a Thames Deckway and SkyCycle. There will also be an exploration of possibilities for the next generation of buildings, including the kinds of technology they will house.
