A passion for architecture is a characteristic that each member of our brilliant team possesses. It is this that has driven us to create some of the most remarkable structures, accounting for a variety of requirements in the process. While we have completed many projects throughout London, we are more than capable of working overseas as well on residential, public, and commercial architecture alike. No matter how expansive your plans are, we always love to tackle new and interesting challenges.
Despite being a part of British history, the Tudor Revival architectural style has been quite popular in America too. The Tudors were once the most powerful figures in England and despite a rather turbulent reign, this was certainly a formative era. Over the years, many individuals have enjoyed reviving this historic style and while it may have a country feel, the truth is that your imagination can turn it into anything you desire.
Several easily identifiable characteristics exist on the Tudor buildings. The first is stucco walls that either do or don’t possess decorative wood half-timbering. Some properties within this style also have shingled or weatherboard walls alongside stucco and half-timbered gables. With other structures, stone was utilised for the walling, being accompanied regularly by decorative trims.
The exterior walls are where the style is truly defined. While many buildings were comprised of patterned stone or brick on the lower floor, most would transition to half-timbering. This was a Tudor era construction approach where the timber frames would be implemented, but were left exposed due to the spaces between them being filled with brick or plaster. Frames became visible this way and this remained as an irreplaceable part of the decor.
